Welcome to JWD, Mr. & Mrs. Codeblue! Glad to have yall here and a BIG for your post....hope to see more of yall in the future....Since yall've been "scopin'" us out for a while, you don't need to be told what a terrific buncha peeps we've got here....
Cheers!

ok so a lot of folks here are into music, and all kinds.. i am always up for hearing new and different artists.
let's face it mainstream radio is not a viable way to find out about new musicians, much less hear anyone with talent.. so i am looking to see what you all are listening to.
anyone under the radar?
Jennifer Rush....Australia....She recorded her version of "The Power of Love" and BLOWS Celine Dion, et al...OFF THE CHARTS!!! (makes Celine's version sound plumb wussy)
She has a very powerful voice...and has recorded albums that RAWWWWK!!!

what is the most martyr-like effort you ever made as a jw to preach door-to-door...?.
frannie b
Going door to door in -40degree C weather, and having to take my gloves off, so I could turn the pages of whatever rag I was offering that day.
BBBRRR-R-R-R-R-R! xjw_b12....good thing you didn't get frostbite...or didja?
8 months pregnant and hot as hell outside. Got conned into going for "just a little while" so I could help sit in on a study, turned out the householder "forgot" about the study so we did return visits instead. Just driving around in that stifling little cramped car with no a/c was enough to make me sick. I can't believe I did that, but only one time! Of course there was one pioneer who just took her little newborn out every day with her in service, nursing in the car, changing diapers in the car. What a life. haha She sure enjoyed telling everyone how a little baby wasn't going to keep her from serving Jehovah. Stupid, stupid woman.
Lutece! Poor baby!<<<you......and poor baby of that shtupid woman!
Please...if I couldn't find nylons without a run, I wasn't going out. I was so spiritually weak! *breaks into mock sobs* *giggles to herself*
LOL@Joannadandy! I love it!
I injured my right knee, and my kneecap had shifted to the right side of my leg, but I was a pioneer and had to get my time, so I went street witnessing on my crutches, before I even went to the doctor. I was a real sicko!
(MOANNNNS) Oh, Walter! I was sicker than you, chico.....I took 3 kids out in field service, two on crutches, one in bandages, and I was walking with a cane...

how does your internet persona differ from your face-to-face personality?
do you interact with people differently on the internet than you would face to face?
yes...i know.....the second and third questions are a re-phrasing of the first...that's in case someone doesn't "get the drift" of the first question.... frannie b
I'm kind of shy and reserved both online and in person.
Yup, Walter....that's the way you come across to me, alright....with the exception that you *do* have a surprisingly droll sense of humor....
Hmm...well how can I be objective about myself? I'd guess to say, I'm fairly friendly, easy going, warm.....somewhat like I am on here. I'm not one to engage in fruitless arguements (agree to disagree, is fine by me), and I can make a killer martini.
LOL@Rayzorblade! And this is objective?...heheheheh.....but, yes, you *do* appear to be that way here, Rayz....I enjoy your posts every time I run across one of 'em....
Good thread btw
Thanks, Rayz.
I am the same on line as I am off line.. A cheap drunk...Just ask Bliss... heheheh
LOL@Kelpie! so....ya gotta get stewed to be yerself, Kelp?
I think I'm pretty much the same in real life as I am online.... I haven't hid that I'm passionate about ballroom dancing, have I??? I do it sober...'cuz ballroom dancing is a precision art....I can't be drunk and ballroom dance.... There...the truth comes out...I'm not a lush... Oh...and I like emoticons just as much in real life...as online!!!<ducks>
LOL@Estee! Yer irreplacable, sweetie....I love yer wit!
wysiwyg, warts and all
LOL@Craig! Yeah, right....but I haven't seen any "warts" on ya.....no....seriously, you're well-spoken, Craig....thoughtful....and probably a lot of other good qualities too numerous to name....
Well I am me as always but Shutterbug says my squeal of joy upon seeing him tranmits better in person
LOL@Sheila! Prolly cause Bug needs the body language that goes with that squeal so he can "understand" ya better....
I am much less outspoken on line for the most part. I tend to blurt out what ever I am thinking when I am face to face. On line, I think a little more about what I'm "saying".
That's true for me, too, Beryl....btw...I love your Morning Glory Avatar, cher!
Otherwise, I laugh out loud and I am out spoken. If I believe in a cause I will say so.
Panda, yes....I've seen you do that...
I definitely swear more in person.
Oh, me, too, Panda....(looks around to see if Simon's lurking)...pith...shat....hail....dam mitt......some ova beach....pluck....see?
I tend to be more reserved in "real life". I still tell it like I see it, I just dont offer my opinion unless asked.
Lucky you, Robdar, for your self-control.....my kids think I "Mom" 'em too much...but it's a role that's difficult to change... :) even tho they're grown....

Im shy, self concsious & Never Know what to say IRL...the only times I remember standing up for myself was when I back answered elders
Sens, I think that's true for most peeps that have exited the borg....and the "stand" you made against the elders took a LOT of cajones, cher!
I'm less confrontational in day to day life than I am online. I'm a bit more reserved as well. The computer allows me to yell at people without having to hear them yell back...LOL!
LOL@Azzie! HYUH! Aren't we ALL....(snicker, snort)

it's been shown that people think differently through text than through speech. The act of typing, of composing your thought, shapes the development of the thought totally differently than if you were speaking one-on-one. Our conversations would be totally different in person - not just because of the sequecning issues, but because our thoughts would progress in different directions. It's like squeezing toothpaste out of the tube - the act of squeezing it forms the structure.Another thing that changes on the internet is our reactions to other's body language, tone of voice, and volume of voice. You can tell which of us probably speak loudly... but those of us who are conflict-averse don't react to the loud voice people the same way, precisely because of the nature of the medium.
I tend to be a bit more cerebral and a bit less JYIS than in person.
LOL, Phantom....why do I keep feeling the urge to call you "Professor"? but you're right on it, PS....that explains why it's easier to be who we are inside on the internet, where we don't feel inhibited or intimidated by others' body language and tones of voices...
I will start to comment and decide to expunge,( I love that word and don't get to use it much) the whole reply more often than I post. You can tell when I cut loose because there are lots of typos! My fingers are going like crazy when I am worked up. And I can't spell to save my life! Maverick
Velly intellestink, Mav....I'll haf to keep dot in mind when I vread your posts in de futyah....
I am a science fiction writer. My first novel is being typeset as I write this. I am awaiting the publisher's proofs on the front and back covers. Once I give them the "go ahead", it goes into print. If you want details, I have written a brief synopsis on the novel (entitled Squares, Triangles, and Saucers), as well as two other novels which are still being written. They appear on my personal web site at:
HOLEY MOLEY, SFJ!!! I am in the presence of greatness!!! I'm gonna go look soon as I finish this post....
The best way to find this out (if you're single) is internet dating. Exchange blind e-mails with someone. See their photo. Then talk to them on the phone a few times. By the time you actually meet them, you will be presented with someone totally different than the person you made up in your mind. Nothing against internet dating - met great people that way, met my fiancee that way. But get off of email ASAP and off of the phone ASAP and meet for a drink or coffee.
Good points, Phantom....excellent!

has anyone ever possessed something that you'd swear had a demon attached to it?
we've all been told to watch out for things purchased at flea markets, garage sales.... but did something slip through the cracks and into your home?
my story goes like this: i live in a historic community my next door neighbor found a small grave in her backyard.
I dunno but I owned a lot of watchtower and awake magazines and a lot of 191 page books. Soon after that my life became a living hell.
